For example when someone illegally downloads a single, that price that would normally be paid of about £2 is lost, imagine if 1,000 people illegally downloaded that song. That would result in a tenth of the average salary being lost. This loss of £2,000 could be the deciding figure on whether someone is made redundant. By people choosing to pay for music the money goes back into the system. When this money goes back into the system, people keep jobs, people spend money and these are two of the key factors which could pull countries like the UK out of recession and back into good times. This spending helps to create growth in an economy, now I’m not forcing you to legally download your music, I’m just trying to make you see the morally correct side.

However music piracy is not necessarily the fault of the people who illegally download music, it is also the fault of companies such as Apple, Amazon and many more. People do not want to pay extortionate prices for their music they want to pay fair and reasonable ones, especially when people’s wallets are getting ever so smaller in today’s day and age. For example, music artists please don’t send in angry comments but I would expect to see a fair price of 50-70pence per song, at the minute most songs on iTunes reach almost £1, that I feel is very excessive. Allowing monopolies like that to continue is wrong and helps to turn more people to music piracy.

I would like to point out however the current system is stable, and it is mostly down to people’s unwillingness to support the current system which enhances music piracy. For example I own songs by major artists such as:

- Maroon 5
- John Lennon
- Foo Fighters
- The Fray
- Black Veil Brides
- Coldplay
- Snow Patrol
- Guns N’ Roses
- Gabrielle Aplin
- Alex Day
- Hollywood Undead
- The Kooks
And many more….

All of those artists where all purchased from the iTunes Store in fact my whole music library was purchased there, now I’m not saying that the iTunes Store is the only way to buy music but what I am saying is that many artists all can be found on online stores, and if you are a true music fan or just someone who likes to listen to music you will realise the wrong and purchase from a legitimate online store like the iTunes Store.

All the avid fans of those ‘nudge’ things you used to have shall be disappointed, as Skype is more formal than informal. It is a lot easier to video chat which saves typing… but you can still type of course. Below, you can see a screen you get when you open Skype now. (Providing you have Windows Live Messenger installed). It allows you to merge your Windows Live Messenger contacts to Skype, thus, not losing touch with anyone!

Windows 8 was originally designed for tablet PCs (those things with the touch screens that are rarely used) but Microsoft optimised it to work on a desktop computer. Well, they attempted to. The first thing you’ll notice when you boot up Windows 8 is that you are left without your wonderful start menu. Instead, you get a tacky, two dimensional, minimalistic full screen start menu… which quite frankly is horrible to use. Windows calls this… ‘METRO’ although, ‘DODGY’  would have been a more appropriate name.

This may look wonderful and all, but when it comes to having no internet… It’s pretty much useless, as it’s mostly internet-based. If you want to quickly search for a programme, no longer can you search quickly with the start menu… You now have to open the ‘Metro’ start menu… and search in full screen. What if I was recording a video and I needed to open up a new programme? I don’t really want a start menu to take up the whole screen.

Other than that, it’s the same as Windows 7.

I personally don’t like the new cow sounds, and the new XP sounds would probably get annoying very quickly. I remember when Minecraft had none of this fancy stuff. THOSE WERE THE DAYS! Anyway, if there’s any updates to this snapshot, I’ll let you know!
